If you are interested in participating in child care provider trainings sponsored by the Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc., please click on this button to complete the online registration form.
The upcoming schedule of trainings are listed below. All trainings unless otherwise noted will be at the Robeson County Partnership for Children located at 210 E. Second Street, Lumberton, NC 28358.
Spring 2026 Training Calendar
1/27/2026: ITS-SIDS (2 CHCs) – $10; 6:30 pm – 8:30 m Registration Deadline 1/21/2026; This training will cover the NC Safe Sleep guidelines including safe practices, sleep charts, and room environment. Learners will be given a Pre/Posttest to assess knowledge gained as a result of this training. Trainer: Amanda Lovette
2/07/2026: CPR/First Aid (no credit hours) – $10 to RCPC and bring $5 to training to receive card; 9 am to 12 pm Registration Deadline 1/28/26; Participants will complete the American Heart Association requirements and receive certification in CPR and First Aid. Participants will bring $5 to receive a CPR/First Aid Certification Card. Trainer: John Carroll
2/21/2026: Playground Safety (4 CHCs) – $15; 9 am to 1 pm Registration deadline 2/11/2026; The purpose of this training is to make participants more aware of safety concerns in the home, center, or school-based childhood setting. This training will help childcare providers become more aware of the potential hazards and safety issues the playground and equipment and ways they can prevent childhood injuries. Emphasis will be placed on meeting state guidelines. Trainer: Jamie Flanagan
3/10/2026: ECERS-3 (2 CHCs) – $10; 6:30pm-8:30pm Registration Deadline 3/4/2026; Participants will receive training on how to use the ECERS-3 environment rating scale. Knowledge will be gained on the overview of the subscales and items of the ECERS-3. Trainer: Erika Nolley
3/17/2026: Classroom Management (2 CHCs) – $10; 6:30pm-8:30pm Registration Deadline 3/11/2026; Participants will receive training on classroom management and how to effectively set up a schedule that every child in the classroom benefits from. Learners will also gain knowledge on how to set up their classroom so that it helps children with their social/emotional needs. Trainer: Amanda Lovette

4/21/2026: Connections Matter in Early Childhood (2CHCs) – $10; 6:30 to 8:30 pm; Registration Deadline 4/15/2026; Participants will learn the importance of safe, secure attachments with caregivers. Safe, secure relationships with adults make a significant impact on the life of a child and on their health outcomes as an adult. Participants will understand childhood trauma and its impact; explore how to support their emotional, social and intellectual development; reduce problem behaviors; and cultivate resilience in yourself and the children that you care for. 5/21/2026: Incorporating Play based Learning Practices in Early Childhood (2CHCs) – $10; 6:30 to 8:30 pm; Registration Deadline 5/13/2026; Participants will learn how to tailor activities to align with children’s natural curiosity and preferred play styles, offer a variety of materials that can be used in multiple ways to encourage creativity, and guide children’s play by asking open-ended questions, offering suggestions, modeling desired behaviors during choice time, and ideas to connect centers to the curriculum used.
